Free Tax Preparation in San Francisco CA Claim Earned Income Credit

Let qualified professionals assist you in filing your return. Learn about the EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT as well as other tax credits that may available to you. Please arrive early. Clients will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is open to all individuals and families with total gross incomes less than $53,000.

Sponsored by the United Way of the Bay Area and a range of partners, the Earn It Keep It Save It program is available for households that earned less than $50,000 in 2011. Last year, Earn It Keep It Save It processed $63.8 million in refunds for almost 60,000 Bay Area households, including $20.2 million in earned income tax credits.

Information to Bring for Free VITA Tax Preparation in San Francisco

  • Tax forms from your job (Form W2)
  • Any tax forms from your bank or job (including Form 1099s)
  • Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number cards for you, your children and/or your spouse
  • Any tax forms for your Social Security income or retirement income
  • Any other tax forms showing income you received
  • Any forms related to a student loan or tuition you paid including the cost of course materials
  • The name, address and Social Security number or Employer Identification Number for your babysitter or child care provider
  • Property tax statements
  • A canceled check for direct deposit (to get your refund faster)
  • Health Insurance statement for 2014, 1095-A (if you have it)
